You'll work the manuscript from first read to final proof — line-editing translations, querying authors, and keeping our three-reads promise honest. Two years on a desk, and a reading life we can talk about for an hour.
You'll shepherd translated works across languages — coordinating translators, tracking rights, and keeping our pipeline humming. Comfort with at least one Indian language beyond English, and patience for long email threads.
You'll learn the craft of book design from cover to colophon — sitting in on production meetings, prepping files for press, and seeing a book through to the printer. Six months, with a stipend and a shelf of finished books at the end.
You'll plan our readings, launches, and the occasional bookshop pop-up — keeping the calendar full and the conversations lively. Warm with strangers, organised on paper, and willing to stay late when the wine runs out.
